New Zealand Purpose of visit of the Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien to implement the content of cooperation agreed between the Prime Minister of Vietnam and the Prime Minister of New Zealand, contribute to the celebrations 40 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam - New Zealand. The visit also aims to implement the cooperative partnership between the two governments, Vietnam and New Zealand, including health and food safety the priority areas of cooperation between the two countries.

After the visit to Vietnam by the Minister of Food Safety New Zealand on 07/27/2015, the two sides have signed the Partnership for Food Safety between the Director General in charge of marketing strategy , the basic industries of New Zealand and the Department for Food Safety, Ministry of Health of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Following the results, in this visit, the Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien met and worked with Minister Jo Goodhew Food Safety. New Zealand have shared experiences on the organizational model of the Ministry of Basic Industry (Ministry of Primary Industries) of New Zealand, the Ministry was merged from three ministries: the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Fisheries and Agencies Food safety. Food Safety Department shall develop legal writing in the field of food safety and building regulations and standards on food safety and hygiene. Unified management model of a Ministry will enhance management efficiency better than shared responsibility for three separate ministries as before.

At this visit, the two sides agreed to enhance exchange and cooperation in the field of food safety by sending experts from New Zealand to technical support, share experiences for the staff of the Vietnamese South Vietnam and elected officials to New Zealand learning experience in managing food safety and hygiene.

The team worked to Assure Quality, the company 100% owned by the Government of New Zealand was established with service providers function on food safety and biosecurity. At the meeting, the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in the following areas: health care the elderly, mental health, tobacco prevention, training of personnel, collaboration in the field of pharmacy and public-private partnership model in the healthcare sector that New Zealand has a lot of experience. Standing Deputy Minister of Health New Zealand also share health policies of New Zealand is focused on health care in the community through the family doctor system, and there is close connection between the disease hospital and family doctor system in the community. The two sides agreed in the near future will go to discussion and signing of the Memorandum of cooperation in the health sector, expected to be concluded on the occasion of the New Zealand Prime Minister to visit Vietnam in October 11/2015 forthcoming.

The delegation also worked with the agency PHARMAC New Zealand government. The agency on behalf of the Medical Council of New Zealand particles decide the list of medicines and medical equipment used in hospitals and public health facilities in New Zealand. PHARMAC negotiating the best prices for pharmaceutical products, including vaccines and other medical products. Through procurement system investment professional carefully, PHARMAC position to promote pharmaceutical suppliers compete to become the pharmaceutical supplier to PHARMAC. This system enables New Zealand's drug prices are much lower than other countries in the region and the world.

On the occasion of the visit, the delegation toured the medical council of the Manukau particles called Ko Awatea, serve about 500,000 residents in the area. Ko Awatea Medical Council is a leading medical center of the Medical Council of the particles are located in a region Manukau Auckland's main hospital. This center operates health care in areas with Maori communities, immigrants from Pacific island nations and Asian people live.
