Euro 114 million EU support for health sector reform

4-12 days, at a ceremony in Hanoi signed the Financing Agreement "Policy Support Programme Phase 2 Health: Towards equitable and quality health services" totaling 114 million Euro took place in Hanoi.

Authorized by the Government of Vietnam, the Ministry of Finance Minister Dinh Tien Dung and Mr. Pierre Amilhat - Director Asia, Central Asia / Gulf and Pacific, under the Directorate for Development and Cooperation, the European Union European Union (EU) signed the Agreement.

The agreement will support Vietnam in the implementation of health sector reforms and the implementation of plans and programs to advance to the reforms in the period 2015-2017.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister Dinh Tien Dung said that the Policy Support Programme Health Phase II to Vietnam to the common goal of sustainable poverty reduction and harmonious growth in Vietnam through support development aid health care system of Vietnam towards equity, efficiency and quality in line with the national development strategy of Vietnam's healthcare sector.

With this financial agreement, the European Union continues to confirm that the agency plays an important role in the financial partnership between the Government of Vietnam and the European Union, particularly in the medical field.

Ministers noted the great contribution of the European Union in the period 2007-2013 with a total value of non-refundable aid to Vietnam by the EU was 300 million euros in the areas of health, education, tourism and trade.

Along with this Agreement, the Minister believes future cooperation relations between the Government of Vietnam and the European Union will continue to be strengthened and developed.
