In order to review the roles of Technical Working Groups (TWGs) and provincial participation in the HPG as well as to discuss ways to strengthen their performances, the HPG meeting on Technical Working Groups (TWGs) and Provincial participation in the HPG was organized on 15 November 2016 in Hoa Binh hotel, Hanoi. The meeting was chaired by Mme.

In order to review the roles of Technical Working Groups (TWGs) and provincial participation in the HPG as well as to discuss ways to strengthen their performances, the HPG meeting on Technical Working Groups (TWGs) and Provincial participation in the HPG was organized on 15 November 2016 in Hoa Binh hotel, Hanoi. The meeting was chaired by Mme. Nguyen Thi Minh Chau, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department, MOH; and co-chaired by Ms. Ritsu Nacken, Deputy Representative, UNFPA in Vietnam. More than 80 participants have attended the meeting, including focal points of TWGs from MOH departments, provinces, representatives of development partners, and key INGOs and private sector who work closely with provinces and TWGs. 

After the section of reviewing the roles of TWGs and provincial participation in HPG and sharing key findings of the assessments on TWGs and provincial participation, participants were divided into two groups to discuss factors that facilitate and constrain regular and productive TWG activities and provincial participation in the HPG, as well as proposing recommendations for better functioning of TWGs and provincial participation in HPG. Both groups highlighted the leadership role and guidance from MOH leaders, as well as the role of HPG Secretariat in boosting the operation of TWGs and provincial participation in the HPG. The groups mentioned some topics that could be the focus of new TWGs for the coming time: NCDs, aging population, and electronic health.
